Default Relocating to Akron, working on south side

Hi, I'm trying to relocate to Akron pretty soon. I'll be working on the south side and am looking for an apartment or townhouse to rent. I was looking at places in southern Cuyahoga Falls which would require me to commute on Route 8 through Akron during rush hour. Do you think this would be a problem? If so, do you have any recommendations for places on the southern side of Akron?

Akron doesn't really have a rush hour just a rush 15 min,but it has its share of xway tie ups in the morning.
how far south are you working ? there are some nice townhouses and small houses to rent in the portage lakes area, aka Coventry/Green/New Franklin. this would get you close to work and in the summer you could enjoy the lakes fishing/boating/swimming

I don't think it will be a problem per se, but it will extend your commute.

Route 8 through the central interchange during rush hour hovers at somewhere between 40 and 5 miles an hour.

For instance, I typically will get off Route 8 and cut across the city to get back to I-77 as opposed to sitting in slow-moving traffic. Worst case scenario it's a wash.

You would save some time being on the other side of the interchange like htlong suggested, like south side of Firestone Park, Portage Lakes, etc.

But if you like south Cuyahoga Falls it's not insurmountable. Just tack an extra 10-20 mins onto your commute.
