Default Moving to Akron

I'm moving to the area to attend Kent State starting this fall and I'm considering living in the city of Akron. I'm wondering if this would be a good option for a soon-to-be-impoverished grad student and if so, what would be a good area of the city to live in? I'm familiar with the geography of the area, but not the neighborhoods so much. Thanks!

It seems like we tell everyone this, but Highland Square would be a good fit.
There are plenty of suburbs between Akron and Kent as well. It depends on what you are looking for.

I really like the older urban feel of St. Louis; I grew up in the Ozarks, so it's radically different. Akron strikes me as a lot of the same. I'm not really looking for anything suburban, which Kent does have a suburban feel to it. It looked like a wonderful town, though. I'd prefer either urban or something more rural.
