Phenix City
I'm just wondering what everyone's impression is of Phenix City. I have a lot of relatives there, and drive down from Atlanta once every couple of months. My relatives LOVE it there, but I have always found it kind of dull. Any thoughts?

An appendix of Columbus, GA. Used to be off limits to soldiers stationed at Ft. Benning. Over the last several years quite a bit development mostly along 280.

Phenix City
When I was stationed at Fort Rucker, Ala, we made a trip to Phenix City as it had a reputation for being a "hot" city. What a disappointment! It was calm as any city could be. Guess that reputation was earned during WWII and it lingered on/ Be sure to try the famous bar-b-q when you get there.

It is definitely a growing city. There is a lot of new development going on. It is riding the growth wave of Columbus.

i think phenix city alabama is starting to show some growth a little because there suppose to be getting a 10 story highrise condo in there city and there starting to build a few hotels to in there city like there are building a holiday inn express on the 280 bypass and they are starting construction on a ramanda hotel on the corner of the 431 highway

if your taking about phenix city alabama its a small city but its growing at a great speed now if your from a large metro city like atlanta orlando chicago or any big metros or if you like living in large metro citys then phenix city alabama is not your place to live because phenix city alabama is not a large metro area but if you want to live in a small city then phenix city will be the right place all though phenix city does not have a lot of shopping centers the only thing phenix city is got is walmart and kmart and publix now if your looking for a mall to go to you have to go to columbus georgia its right across the bridge and river in georgia its only a couple of minutes from phenix city because phenix city does not have a mall so all of us that live in phenix city has to go to the mall across the bridge and river in columbus georgia but if you dont like phenix city alabama you could move to columbus georgia thats across the bridge and river they have great stuff and more stuff over there in there city like the mall and they just built a strip mall also columbus also has four walmarts in there city also

You left the area in 2000 according to your other post. You may want to consider visiting.
