A guide at Oakleigh Historic Complex in Mobile told me about something crazy that happened to her in the Oakleigh Mansion. She's very solid, not ghosty at all. During Christmas time, a tour of children were ringing the bell, waiting to come in. As she walked through the second parlor, the greenery on the mantle had fallen down. She picked it up and attempted to put it back, but there was an unseen force that wouldn't let her. Just wasn't happening. She pushed; it pushed. The bell kept ringing so finally she thought, forget it! And went and did her tour.
I volunteer there myself but have never had anything happen. It
is a spooky feeling there, though. You just feel unsettled; I wouldn't want to live in that house. The second parlor is the one with the most problems. I will never forget one time I was in the docent waiting room reading (waiting to do a tour) when the servants' stair door popped open!!

Turned out it happened when the A/C turned on!
The maid said she saw a lady dressed in a beautiful green dress as she passed the second parlor's door. She said she just kept on going!
There was also a house in Oakleigh that had poltergeist activity. Supposedly after the teen daughter left, it stopped for the most part. It is on the corner of Savannah and Oakleigh Place, right by Oakleigh's front part.
