Question Possible move to Jackson Alabama

Hello I would very much love information on Jackson Alabama..My husband recently lost his job here in Michigan and has been doing phone interviews for new jobs which means possible new location...I have lived in Michigan my whole life & my daughter & two adorable grand children live close to me, so the move is scarey..
My question is this my husband and I have been surfing the internet trying to find homes for sale in Jackson but haven't had any luck...Does anyone know if they are reasonable homes for sale, the price etc..Also what are the winters like...Any information would be of great help..
Leaving all my family behind, including my Dad & Mom who are in their late 70's now..But I guess everyone has to cut the strings before long...
Thank you for the info

Dear KountryKitten,

I live in Jackson, AL. I was just surfing the internet looking at houses for sale here since I will be selling my current house soon. I followed this link since it came up in my search.

I have lived here with my wife and kids for about 20 years now. You will find that it is a very friendly town although small, and like every small town everybody knows everybody. I myself moved here when I was single searching for a job in forestry which is a big industry here. I came from a big city in south Florida but fit in here very nicely.

The weather here is sultry in the summer but the winters are mild. We rarely have snow (about once every two years or so). Somewhat different to what you are use to I expect.

Mobile is about a 60 minute drive south from here. Jackson is situated between the Alabama and Tombigbee rivers and there is great fishing and hunting here if you are into that.

Anyway, good luck in your future endeavors Moderator cut: email address removed
