Is VALHERMOSO SPRING, AL a good or bad suburb to retire to. Any info you can provide is appreciated.

Well, if you like living out in the country, it would be lovely. This is not really a suburb. It is a rural farm community in Morgan County and is close to Huntsville. "City water" is available, but no sewers. Everybody's on septic tank. You have to drive a ways to get to a regular supermarket. But it's beautiful countryside. Valhermoso Springs was once the site of a noted 19th- and early 20th century resort hotel, but the hotel burned down many years ago. There is an historic marker.

SouthLander once again I thank you for your help and want tot let you know I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge with me. I am trying to fine me a place to retire in that area. I woudl like to have 2 or 3 places to look at when I visit that area. I am coming from Houston, TX where taxes are SKY HIGH.
