Default Tuscaloosa -best restaurant to work for servers

I am relocating to the Tuscaloosa area in less than a month. I would like to find a job working as a server, preferably days, but I know that may be a long shot.

Anyone have any suggestions or have any experience working in this field and area? It looks like I will be living in the Northport area (I have never been to Tuscaloosa and have no idea about travel time around the area).

The City Cafe in Northport looks great mainly because of the hours of operation. Although cheap prices may mean cheap tips. I currently work as a server in a dire area. 20% tips rarely happen, but I manage to make more in 20-30 hours a week than working 40 hours on minimum wage.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, tips, or advice!

Take this a grain of salt, as I have no personal experience as a server, but City Cafe is almost always busy and typically has a fairly upper middle class clientele, so I would guess the tips would be good if only because of customer volume. Cypress Inn is another popular local place, along with Baumhower's Wings.

Thanks so much. I just filled out an app for the Cypress Inn. I actually had to take a personality and cognitive test;they are not playing around!

One thing that will help is having your ServSafe or other food safety management certification. If you do not have it, you can go to Shelton State | ServSafe Food Safety

for the schedule.
