dothan, enterprise or other small cities
husband is transferring job to Enterprise. I know nothing about Alabama and am so confused. We are kind of country people in the fact that we enjoy fishing, hunting, acreage around us, etc.. We are kind of city people in the fact that we go to Lowe;s every other day or so, the grocery every day, the movies and restaurants and shops on the weekends.. we do like a self contained little area with all the above and dont' really like to be far from it for quick runs! What would be better for us-Dothan or Enterprise. Can you affordably get acreage in Dothan without being far from town? Is Dothan too busy and city-ish? Do people in Enterprise go to Dothan everyday anyway becuase they need the stores there that Enterprise doesnt' have???

Hi, I'm a native to Dothan, and although the cost of living is very low, the Ross Clark Circle can have some nasty traffic. I think you would enjoy Enterprise a lot better, it has plenty of stores, and if you don't like the selection, Dothan is about 25-30 miles down Highway 84. Dothan seems to be getting caught up in sprawl, which is where that traffic mess can come from. The new housing development in Enterprise allow for a great selection as well.
Also, you may want to look in to Daleville. If you can find a nice home it is an ideal city located between Enterprise and Dothan. It is right out side of Ft. Rucker, the town has so many different restaurants its not even funny.

I agree with Frankie117... dothan is fast growing, and can get that big city feeling at certain times. We live in Screamer , between abbeville and eufauala, and dont mind the drive when we need the city stuff...... This part of UCLA (upper corner lower alabama) is a great place to be......all the best!

I would say go for Enterprise. There is Agape with the Church of Christ in Enterprise.

Do You Know W. Bradely From Enterprise?
Does anyone know Mr Wilmer Bradley - living either Enterprise or Chancellor? Age would be in the 60's born perhaps in 1943?

yes you can. My buddy lives about 3 miles off of the circle on Williams Road on several acres. His address is Headland, but his phone and everything else comes out of Dothan. He loves it there, commutes are short and malls are closeby.

I currently live in Enterprise but I did live in Dothan last year. We find ourselves going to Dothan more often because the only big restraunt Enterprise has is Ruby Tuesdays so we go there for the mall and places the eat. Enterprise is more calm then Dothan and more countryish. Dothan is big and growing quickly. I preferred Dothan myself. I hope this helps.

I would not put Enterprise on the not growing side. Enterprise is starting to sprout it's wings and take off.
