Socal, I bet that was Fyffe's, lol, near the downtown post office. They have good chicken fingers--although you didn't know that chickens had fingers, did ya?

One time h and I went out to eat and were surrounded by those cultured people known as 'snowbirds.' They were loudly talking about how Everyone down South has two names. ?? H and I began calling each other by names such as "Billy Bob" and "Linda Lou." I started talking about how outraged that I was that I had to leave my pet pig outside, instead of bringing it in to eat with us like we could at the diner closer to home. I couldn't help myself. If they wanted to think of being in the South as being on an episode of "Hee Haw", I didn't want to disappoint them.

Pig ears? ::shudder:: My late grandmother was from the north and considered pickled pig's feet a delicacy. Nothing like seeing those pickled pig's feet floating in a jar....

Personally, there are some things I would have no problem composting (even though it is a meat) instead of consuming, but to each their own!

Actually, they do eat them and enjoy them, as I've been told and observed. My mom, from N AL, loved this gastronomical oddity (at least to me). It was always disgusting watching her enjoy this strange food obsession. She only ate small amounts with crackers, and I cringed.

The south does have its specialities, and I guess the love of pigs feet is even regional in AL.

I love southerners. I'm in So Cal and I hope my hubby gets a job in Auburn. You guys are hilarious. My dad used to eat pig's feet all the time in So Indiana.

You think you have died and gone to heaven when you eat Fried fish and grits..
You will drive miles to get fried crab claws or west indies salad.
