Default where do I want to move to near Dothan???

I am more confused than ever and not sure I am going to know where I should live until I am already there and it's too late. Husband is transferring to Enterprise-the base. We love the outdoors and hunting and fishing and fourwheeling and like other people who enjoy these things. I do want to go into Dothan some for movies, restaurants, shows and shopping. I love acreage, but dont want to live too awfully far from the grocery store and Home Depot, etc.. (places I go often.) I homeschool so I am concerned about my ability to meet people, so I need a community that is friendly and has family type things to do. My sixteen yr. old boy loves fishing and hunting and needs a school and church youth group to go to with similar kids. What do I want-Dothan? Entrprise? Ozark? Daleville? Kinston??? Will Dothan be too big? Kinston too small? I am soooo confused!!!!!!!!

Default I would have to say Dothan

I grew up in Enterprise, lived there as an adult, but now live in Dothan. We homeschool as well and there are very few homeschooling groups with significant activities in Enterprise. They are very proud of their school system. I graduated from that system, but it is not what it once was. Dothan has many homeschooling groups with many levels of extra activities.

You will also spend half your time driving to Dothan to shop for anything that cannot be purchased at Walmart. Enterprise is very friendly to military folks however as there is such a large community of them and social networking is probably easier there than in Dothan.

There is still plenty of acreage around Dothan is that is what you are concerned about.

God bless!

All are nice cities, I would go with either Dothan or Enterprise. Dothan has a population of 65,000 so it is not an extremely large city, but it has pretty much anything you would need in regards to shopping and eating out. Dothan would be a good place as for activities for your kids as there would be more oppurtunities.

Enterprise is a city of around 23,000, the smaller city enviroment might be better for your kids getting to know other kids more through local church youth group and other events. You would have shopping and would have easy access to Dothan whenever you needed to go into the city for the things you can't get in Enterprise.

Perhaps you should make a visit to both cities and take a look around and see which meets your needs best. I think they both would be great choices.
