Boll Weevil Monument in Enterprise
Does anyone know if the famous monument dedicated to the boll weevil is still in a town square in Enterprise? I was stationed at Fort Rucker some years ago and wish I had taken a photo of it then. Is there anyway I can access this monument online?

Boll Weevil Monument in Enterprise
Delta Planter:
Thanks for the link. Sure brought a smile to my face to see that statue again and it looks larger than I remebered it to be. Brings back great memories of the year I spent in Alabama too...friendly people, great barbecue...at least as good as Memphis.

Hey Mickey_NC,
Glad you found the pic of the Boll Weevil Statue. She is still there and the same size she always was. She photographs very well. First thing everyone says when they she her is. "I thought she was bigger". She is here now and I am confident will always be here. If you ever make it back to Enterprise, you can count on seeing her.

Boll Weevil Monument in Enterprise
Bohem21:
Thanks for the reply. If ever I get to Alabama again (my wife has never been) the first place we intend to vsit Enterprise, Fort Rucker, Ozark, Daleville and Dothan. There used to be a place called The Dothan Alabama Peapickers Recreation Hall out on one of the state roads just before you got to Dothan from Fort Rucker...had many a happy time there! I recall one evening when my date and I were stranded on a country road during a heavy downpour and we had to leave my car to walk two miles back into Enterprise. Her Dad was waiting for us on the front porch conveniently cleaning his shotgun. The man never said one word to me but I got the message.
