Homecoming parade in Arab last Friday..

I have to say, it wasn't Mardi Gras but it was so neat to see so many people turn out for the HS homecoming parade. The HS band was awesome.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I think I am going to research the places everyone mentioned and narrow it down to 3 or 4 choices and then take a trip to visit them all.

A few more questions about Arab:

1. Can you recommend a good preschool/daycare for 2-4 year olds?
2. What school districts would be within 20 min. of Arab? (I'm a teacher and since Arab's district is so small, I'm worried about finding a job opening...maybe there are other districts close that I could apply to as well).

Thanks again!!

Trina

I, like several others, must recommend Guntersville. Quaint little town with lots of decent neighborhoods- right on the water. Not to sure what real estate is doing there lately....Waterfront property is getting popular- but I imagine areas with easy access to the water are much more affordable- However, if you're used to FL prices it may not be an issue!

Any suggestions of a town that meets these criteria?

I would check into Gadsden if I were you. That's where I am from and my family still lives there. Its located along the Coosa River and it's only about 30-45 minutes from Birmingham ... a few hours to Atlanta or a couple of hours to Tennessee. If you look into this town, and have any other questions, we would be happy to help. Just ask away!!

The Wetumpka area is nice too, we have a beautiful river and Lake Jordan too! Montgomery is about 17 miles away. Our small town school system where we are is called Holtville. We are 10 miles from Wetumpka. I love our schools and our pretty area!

Gadsden is an excellent choice. Also look into Adger. I have see some homes on the lake in Adger for around 100k. School system is Oak Grove.

Opp, Alabama located in Covington county has Lake Jackson, which is a state park. The schools in that area are good. The Coffee county school system are nice also. Covington county and Coffee county are located side by side. Covington borders the Florida state line and Coffee is maybe 20 minutes drive from Florida.
