Look at the Lake Jordan or Lake Martin areas also, located in Elmore County, near Montgomery. Gunter Annex of Maxwell AFB is a major computer center for the Air Force and is easily within driving range.

My husband is hoping to be transfered to Redstone Arsenal. What would be a good place to live in that area? Alabama sounds wonderful. Thank you.

Really depends on what you are looking for in a city/town. You can live in Huntsville or any of the other small towns/communities around it.

Homes where I live are cheaper than H'ville and the schools are rated #2 in the state, but you don't have all the amenities that you have in H'ville like malls and movie theaters.
