Question Small town near Montgomery

Hey, I am considering relocating family to be nearer to extended family in SE Al. My career would require me to be in or near a larger city like Montgomery. I am a technical engineering type and I am not wanting to live in the city though, would prefer a small town nearby like Wetumpka or else where. Anyone out there no much about the smaller towns near Montgomery?

My extended family lives near Dothan area is why I thought of Montgomery as it is nearer to Dothan. My youngest child has Ceberal Palsy and I am thinking that she would get better care in a larger city such as Montgomery or Birmingham and would set that as a priority. I would be interested in wholesome living in a nearby area that is within reasonable commuting distance for both my work and the physical therapy of the child.

I lived in Montgomery and Wetumpka, and if I had to chose it would be Wetumpka by far. The schools are better than Montgomery, where I would only put my child in private school, and the people are much nicer. It's only a 10-15 minute ride to town, depending on where you are, so you have close access to the Hospitals, etc. I hope this helps

Also, I would never live in Birmingham....go to airnow.com and check it out, Birmingham has one of the most awful air quality in the country.
