Hello Jacksonville, Alabama.........
My name is Bart and i'm from Belgium, Europe. Next year i'm planning a trip to the United States. More specific: i go to the Talladega SuperSpeedway for the NASCAR Nextel Cup AARON'S499 on the end of april. I'm staying in Jacksonville. Is there someone to give me some good tips about the town? About bars, restaurants, etc...
Cause the US is kinda new for me(first time). But i gonna be fine i guess, it looks like a nice town(pics i found), filled with nice people i think....

Hello Bart, we are so glad you will be visiting us! Jacksonville is a lovely small town with a four-year university. I have not been there in 30 years, so I hope someone will post more information for you. I hope you have a way to get to the superspeedway - Jacksonville is not next door! Although the town has a university, that is right at exam time, so things may not be lively there. But they WILL be at Talladega! Welcome!

I can't help you with Jacksonville but I've been going to this race for the past 10 years. If you need any tips and pointers I'll be more than happy to help you. Talladega is a great track and a great one to see your 1st race.
You'll find people in Alabama are the nicest anywhere!!

It is about 37miles to Talladega, gonna be there with a rental car, from Atlanta Airport. I'm staying at the University Inn, on Pelham Road, Jacksonville. Let the winter be gone pretty fast....to 2008.

I'll be in the area for a few days. Arriving wednesday in Jacksonville, with a rental car from Atlanta Airport. I got tickets online from the Talladega SuperSpeedway. They(ticket-office) told me on the phone to pick-up the tickets on race wknd. They are not gonna send it to a foreign country. Where is that office on the speedway?
ps: if you got some hot tips for race wknd, tell me, i'm curious...
Thanx-a-lot........

If you go to the track's website it's has boatloads of information. You will see a map of the track and the parking and even helpful hints on different ways into the track. You'll be able to find the visitor's center there.
You can download the visitor's information. Our 1st couple of years we would print this out and bring it with us.
If you're getting there on Wednesday, plan on a trial run to the track. You can even visit the museum without the crowds that way.

Race day.
We usually arrive on both days between 7am-8am and have no problem doing everything we want to.
Please pay attention to what they say you can and cannot bring into the track.
As the day gets closer I'll fill you in on more ways to save money.
