I will be relocating to the Scottsboro-Rainesville-Fort Payne area shortly and have not been successful in finding either a small home or townhouse to rent in that area. I am not interested in buying at present. The realtors in that area do not list home rentals and are only interested in home sales. The classifieds do not have much to offer either. Does anybody know a source of rental listings in the area?

The reason they do not publicly list rental is, in many cases, they do not want to rent to certain groups. In towns as tiny as Fort Payne and Rainsville, the best thing to do is get in your car, and drive around town and look for rental signs.
It is almost impossible to find a reputable rental source aside from real estate agencies, and most as I said, will not either handle rentals, or will not advertise them. |
