Hello!
My family and I are moving to Alabama. We have been down to house hunt a few times and one of the homes we are looking at is in Ragland but the school is Kenndy (in Pell City.) From the looks of it, Ragland is a small town (which is fine with us because we are bring our goats, chickens, horses, and rabbits so we are too busy for anything else..lol..)
We have not put our offer in on this home yet and are still looking at more homes (most in the Pell City area but anything that comes up in our price range that has good schools..30-35 min from the Talladega speedway, and where we can have our animals at- we are looking at.)
I would love some insight to this area.

Where do you live now and where are you from ?

Right now in Marion, Ohio (born and lived in Sylvania, Ohio for over 27 years before our move here) but we are opening up a company down in Talladega. We have been down there a bunch of times looking for homes.

The One in Ragland it's more toward Pell City I guess but still has an Ragland address. I wasn't too impressed with what I see in Ragland (we didn't drive around in that town because it was the only home in that city we were looking at and we had 17 houses set up to look at) and worried about resale of this place if we did decided to go with it (no one thinks they will have to move but it happens.) I looked up on a few sites about what's selling out there (and I check out on city data about the town. Neither was that great) and I have to say I didn't see much (which of course worries me and almost takes this house off our list to come back again and see.) I thought first I'd try this site and see what others that are already in the area think about it before I cross it off.

I do know the information about Marion, Ohio were we are at now comes across in the same matter. We have lived here for over 9 years and I love it here. So, even tho the information comes across not so great I have to say this has been a wonderful place to live. That's why I am asking anyone in that area about it.

Another home we are looking at is in Springville but where this house is will be a drive from Talladega. Nice home still.

Then the 3rd home is in Southside, Al (near Rainbow city.) I like what I have seen with this house but today am going to research the schools.

p.s.
We are looking for an area with room (which doesn't seem hard to find down there.) We have two young children (so schools are high on our list.) We also are bring our horses, goats, rabbits, and a few chickens (so we need to be in an area zoned for that also.) Thanks again!
