Alabama Whitewater Paddling Guide, and look for "Town, lower" in the Run Index. If you are thinking about paddling the lake backwaters of Town Creek, the only put-in access I know of is the take-out described in the whitewater run. It's been a long time since I've been there but it used to be a 1/2 mile or more carry down a washed out forest road and then through the woods. The Birmingham Canoe Club meets monthly and I'm sure they would be glad to help. They are at
