There are a lot of German influences in Huntsville, but I'm not sure if that is what you are going for when you take an excursion to see the south. That being said, the Space and Rocket Center is awesome.

Thank you for mentioning the Aliceville German POW Museum. It preserves the largest collection of German Prisoner of War artifacts in the United States. Most of the artifacts were donated from townspeople and former German POWS. The camp was home to 6,000 Germans from June of 1943 through September 1945.
