Might be going to Alabama for graduate school. Can you get me a summary about the city from the perspective of a college-aged student?

Not bad for a small-to-mid-sized town. A decent city center with some restaurants and nightclubs and okay shopping. Plus you have Birmingham 50 miles up the road with a lot more to offer.

It is very much a college town but it is a decent enough size to have a few other things going for it then just the school. But students there will find plenty to keep them occupied. If not, it is practically a suburb of Birmingham and only 45 min away. Anything else you may find T - town lacking in can be found here just a short drive away.
