The DAR School in Grant is an excellent school, public and open to all residents of the area, and offering great academics plus a background of citizenship, service, and character for its students. The students have a lot of chances to develop creatively---they have a strong music program and they encourage an understanding of the culture of people who settled the mountains. There is also a strong community bond there, with the students caring very much about each other.
