Living in Baldwin County and Commuting to Pensacola
HI,
How is the commute from Spanish Fort/Daphne to Pensacola for a job. Anyone drive there on a daily basis. Is it better to live on the Florida side and if so, any suggestions other half works in Mobile. Suggestions on the better schools Fl vs. AL?
Thanks for the imput.

We are hoping to move to baldwin county in the near future because my husband will be working in Mobile. My husband and I both grew up in Pensacola. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to live there. Its a great town with a lot going on. There are so many great neighborhoods to live in. I attended the public schools and did great. Why drive all that way? My brother lives near NAS and says it takes him about 35 minutes to get to spanish fort. Thats a lot of gas to go everyday there and back. My suggestion to you is to live in Pensacola. You'd be very happy there.

Depending on where live in SF and where in Pensacola you will be working, I would estimate about 45 minutes.
Property taxes are higher in FL and the schools suck for the most part. They teach the FCAT (test) so the kids will pass the test. The FCAT has ruined FL schools. Before the FCAT, FL schools were better than AL, not anymore. FL cut music out of most schools. Spanish Fort has some good schools.
Property taxes are much higher in FL. They don't have an income tax but the Property taxes more than make up for AL income tax.
Spanish Fort or even Malbis would work for you. Malbis is not as crowded as Spanish Fort, but is right off of I 10. More shopping in Spanish Fort though..

Look into the Lillian-Elberta area. You would use hwy 98 to travel into Pensacola and not I-10.

Are you talking about poster #1? No, Lillian wouldn't be very convenient to Mobile.
