Passing through
I'm going to be passing through AL through I-20/59 in the next month or two. Is there any special points of interest or places that we can stop at. Thanks.

I'm driving from Arizona, and will be crossing Mississippi and then Alabama, and continue to Kentucky. Thanks.

Here is a cool store. It is where lost airline baggage is sent and the contents sold. Unclaimed Baggage Center

So you'll be coming into Alabama from the west on I-20, then head NE on I-59?

There are a bunch of places in Birmingham to visit, depending on your interests. If you are interested in civil rights history, there are some historic spots downtown. I'll second the previous suggestions.

If Native American History is of interest, there's Moundville, AL. And as the name implies, there's a cluster of mounds on the banks of the Black Warrior River. Apparently, the Mississippian Indian culture that built these mounds is not well understood. Nor do scholars understand the connection between this Mississippian Culture and the Native American tribes that later inhabited the area.
My first impression is that these mounds look more pyramid like. They don't appear to be burial mounds, although some remains have been excavated.
I did a brief google / research thing, which I have a bad habit of doing, and find this little settlement worthy of a visit on someone's travels.
