Question Hurricanes in Baldwin County: How far north?

I know Huntsville gets tornadoes, but around Baldwin County: How far north has there been hurricane damage? Has it gone north of I-10? I know Gulf Shores got it with Rita and 14 people died, but how far did the damage go exactly?
My cousin lived in Mobile then, and the damage ruined some fence and the occasional tree of a neighbor. Nothing more it seemed...or am I wrong?
I'm really paranoid about hurricanes and natural disasters, so can someone enlighten me on this?

I live in the town of Atmore and we got hit pretty hard here, however Bay Minette which is 25 miles southeast of us wasn't nearly as bad (strangely). Most of the damage was from fallen trees. I have rarely seen a house that has been "blown away".

I really would not worry about hurricane damages. They do not happen that often.

In some circumstances (and yes, I know 2005 was a odd year) damage was sustained in northern Mississippi & Atlanta from both hurricanes & the resultant tornadoes.

Generally speaking, it's tough to say which areas will get hit...except for maybe Dauphin Island. It got smacked during both Ivan and Katrina....shame too, it was a pretty area. Other than that, it truly is hit-or-miss.

Hurricanes are like a mother in law. You never know when where and how they show up. If you are paranoid about weather you will have a hard time finding a place to live particularly on the east coast. Fearing the worst every day will just make it worse. Be prepared, know what might happen and go on about your daily life.
