I moved to Hazel Green 3 weeks ago and I love the area and the schools but I am having a hard time finding any kind of imformation about the area as far as who might be hiring or who babysits or any kind of classifieds dedicated to this area or close by. I am looking for jobs from Huntsville up to Fayetteville and not having much luck. I have a day care but need to find sitters for when the daycare is closed. Does anyone have any idea how I can find out about anything going on in this area?
Thanks,
Shannon

There have got to be tons of jobs in Huntsville. I used to live in southern Lincoln County, and I know the Frito Lay plant in Fayetteville was always hiring. Jobs on the line there were starting at $10/hr, and that was 6 years ago. I would check with them and with temp agencies in both Fayetteville and Huntsville; many times that is the best way to get on with a company, is to start first as a temp.

When my children were small, I had great luck finding a babysitter by contacting the Elementary School. They would provide me with a list of stay-at-home moms that babysit. They would not recommend one, it was up to me to interview. I did this in two different school districts, and found the best sitters ever! Good luck.

Thanks for the great ideas. I will try them. Searching the net is not workiing. I have a daycare but unfortunately they are closed the same days the schools are.

My husband's family lives in Hazel Green and they utilize after school programs and church facilities. Especially for summer. You may also want to check the local grocery stores for bullentins. That's how I found my sitter!

Buy the huntsville times, they have a great classified section or just go to al.com for the times online.
