Default Auburn Al Private Schools

Are there any really good private schools in Auburn/Opelika? My wife has a job offer from the university and we wanted to know how good the private schools there are. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only major private school in the area that I know of is Lee-Scott Academy. I went to elementary school at the old Lee Academy (in Auburn) before it merged with Scott in Opelika back in the early 1980s. I looked at their web site because I was curious about the enrollment across the grades (preK-12) but didn't see any information about that. It is a Christian school, so you would want to make sure that their approach is consistent with your family's religious beliefs and philosophy about schooling.

Auburn public schools have a pretty good reputation. My experience (grades 8-12) was hit or miss, depending on the teacher, but that was a long time ago. Good luck.

Thanks for the information! I checked out their website. I was wondering if anyone that posted here actually had children that went to the Lee-Scott Academy and whether or not they liked it? I also noticed a page for the Trinity Christian School and wondered whether or not it was a good school. We have to make a decision pretty soon about the move so any info would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

Default Auburn Schools

Lee-Scott is a great school. If your child is in high school and participates in sports, that's the route to take. Academics are also good.

Auburn City Schools are excellent. In fact, they're one of the top systems in the state; however, if your kids want to participate in sports, they would have to be top notch to succeed.

Thanks for the info on Lee Scott Mmm231. Just my luck it's Lee-Scott's spring break week. Anybody have any info on how much it costs for kindergarten and whether or not they provide any kind of after school care?
