The distance is 80 miles one way. I've driven hwy 231 many times it takes about 1.5 hours if traffic is moving along just fine. 231 passes through several towns along the way where there are stop signs or lights, and some speed traps I suppose. I could not imagine this for a daily round trip commute, you would wear out the car and yourself while quickly draining your wallet from gas costs.

It's not worth the wear and tear on your car, the gas or your time to commute from LH to Dothan, AL. I would say Yes there are several traffic cops along Hwy 231 in the small towns that you would need to pass through. If you relocate to Dothan, the neighborhood is very nice.

Dothan is a great town, and its much cheaper to live in than Florida. And an 80 mile commute is a bit over the top, especially with current fuel prices.
