Emerald Mountain Christian School
Hi,
I'm moving to Wetumpka and strongly considering Emerald Mountain School. I'm overseas so I've not been able to actually stop by the school so it's difficult process. I'm having to make decisions based on outside knowledge and internet research.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

My chilldren used to go there.
What ages are your children? K-4 through 2nd grade was relatively good, after that, well...
Will you be living in the big subdivision near it?

7,6,5 and 3 years old No clue about the big subdivision. I know nothing of the area at all for the most part. But it is Emerald Mountain near the golf course.
Your not really making me think sending them to that school is such a great idea I just feel bad having them ride the bus for so long to the elementary. Of course next year there will be the new school just down the road . But the current tenant says there child is picked up at like 6:40 am and don't get home till around 4 pm. That's quite long day for a 2nd, 1st and Kindergarten aged children. Of course that's my opinion.
Would love any and all information on the area and schools, things to do etc etc. (church?)

Setting the record straight
Mullins Curve,
If you are who I think you are, then I would like to set the record straight. I realize that this is an old post but I have just been made aware of your comments. I will address them as follows: (1.) Your children did not attend EMCS, only one child did. (2.)Your child attended from K5 through the 2nd grade, not K4 through the 2nd. (3.)For you to allude that you know what happens in 3rd grade and up firsthand is very misleading, brother. In short, all of our graduates, including myself, have all attended the college of their choice. The most recent graduate, that attended EMCS from Kindergarten through twelfth grade, was offered many scholarships with the top ones being from Sewanee and the University of Alabama. That fact is indicative of what can be accomplished by students who persevere and live up to the school's high standards.

I apologize for creating this thread. It wasn't my intent for mudslinging. I really loved our school visit it's a wonderful school. Unfortunately, after long discussion and evaluation of finances we could not afford to send all 4 of our children even with a multi-kid discount.
We were really disspointed we could not send out children to the school. But with our current financial situation wasn't possible. Only regret I did have was that the school gives 50% discount for children of firefighters and police officer (deservedly so mind ya); yet they don't offer the same relief for children of "SOLDIERS". I want to stress I love they do that for the police officers and firefighters but I truly feel in my heart it's an injustice to not offer it to soldiers, sailors, airmen etc etc. Plus, I would of been able to afford to send my children to that awesome school.
Great school and the staff I did meet were extremely nice and helpful. They even offered my wife oppurtunity to work off some of tuition but unfortunately we had 3 yr old that would of cost more for daycare then she would of been able to work off
