Might see my brother and his family! I attended 2 races WAY back in the 1970s...when the noise and crowds weren't nearly so bad today...those 2 races were plenty for me!
But...have a great time!

hey everybody. my buddy and i are coming back down there again in 2 weeks for the race. we're up here by chicago. being big nascar fans, we came down there last year and had a blast. everyone was so nice. the land is just beautiful. this year we're staying in gadsden. like i said eeveryone was so nice. we pulled into the track at 4:30 in the am. now my buddy and i are in our 50's, but he has a souped up mustang. this car load of young girls pulled up next to us and wanted to know if we were partying. you should have seen their faces when we rolled down the windo and they saw us 2 old farts. it was priceless. it was like, oh...nevermind..ha. can't party like those kids anymore. can't wait to get back there again. let's go racin boys

One suggestion: if you're going to 'Dega for the race, realize that the pace will be much different (not only there but in surrounding communities) during the week of the race than at any other time. My wife & I went camping at Cheaha State Park nowhere near either race, and I think it will suit what you're looking for, though I can't speak for jobs, etc. G' luck!
