Is anyone aware of a aviation "fly-in" community in central Alabama? Say between Ozark/Dothan and Birmingham? I'm starting to look at possible retirement property and would like to move back closer to family in the next 10 years. There seems to be a lot of aviation communities in Georgia and a few in northern Alabama, but nothing I could find in the middle of the state. An example is this one in North Alabama http://www.beechwoodairpark.com or this one in Georgia http://www.planelivingskypark.com .

Search for Willow Point Airport (AL71) near Our Town, Alabama. It's near the Willow Point Country Club and Lake Martin, south of Alexander City. You can't taxi to your home, but Lake Martin is beautiful and right there. Good luck.

We have a small airport in Atmore, but it may be too far south for you.
