I live in Georgiana. A town is what you make it - kind of like going to church and expecting to receive something without giving yourself first. This town has some really good people in it. There are some nice looking homes and neighborhoods. Apathy has never accomplished anything. Many of our people here are elderly, do we penalize them? It's the lazy ones that bother me.

Hi guys! My family is from Georgiana\Greenville. I've been researching the old Dr Pepper plant that once operated in Georgiana. I heard Al Fulford owned it in the 40s\50s. Billy Evers operated it. Looking for families associated with it. Or anybody with pictures\stories about it. I'm a freelance writer that would love to put this in a publication. Thanks!

The Fulfords are in my family tree - I will try to ask and see what I can find out about the old Dr. Pepper plant.

it has been said that pasted mayors never wanted this town to grow....thats why this town is in the shape its in now......what bothers me is that all the ppl here dont have jobs like u do....the ones that do have a job is very lucky at this time...from the 60's and back there was alot of things u could do here and the ppl at that time was respectfull and had manners unlike today in this town.....if u think im lieing then u ask anyone that knows what im talking bout....

i live here in georgiana and its nothing like ya'll remember it.. it has gotten worse in my eyes...i have lived here for 38 yrs off and on...the price of living here is worse than u can believe...the hosptial is still here and so is the high school which is in bad shape...most of the stores like Taylor's is closed for good and the grocery store is still open and high in price as ever....the hank williams wkend is still here but now u have to pay $25 to $30 per person just to get threw the gate....the old first baptist church was redone a few yrs ago....as u can see alot has change here... if u have pictures of what it looked like way back then ( 60's and back) and see the town now u will be shocked...hope this helped some.

Kanyalsingh - if you live in Georgiana, then you would know that the old high school is closed and there is a brand new Magnet school replacing it. Georgiana has changed over the years, and yes I think we are paying for the politics of mayors of many years ago, but there is still hope for this little town.

I still say the safety factor alone, makes G'ana a good place to live. I have a lot of friends that went to school there, and they seem to still enjoy living there. Every place has it's faults, but, I think the folks in G'ana are very friendly. I hear that the new school is doing well. This is homecoming weekend. Also, I read in the Greenville Advocate, that the Union Camp is about to reopen. That should be a good thing.

the new school's roof leeks every time it rains. yes union camp will reopen but to only to the young er ppl like the age of 49 and younger. the water smells like bleack or rotten eggs. like i keep saying this place isnt good its in poor shape . just take a closer look at it all not just what u want to see but the whole town and then say its still a perfect/great place to live in.
