Default HELP - Moving to Montgomery Alabama

Hello,
Please i need some advice, i got an internship in montgomery Alabama for 3months this summer with the Public Health department located on 201 Monroe Street. I heard that , that is the downtown area and it could be dangerous. So far i'll be staying in an extended stay accommodation but am still trying to looking for short-term lease on furnished apartments. I dont have a car which is heard is a big problem if you dont have a car in montgomery.

question:
Are the transit system reliable?
if am looking for apartment which areas are considered safe?

Please i need information that would make my adjustment easier
thank you

Go East young man, go east. There are several furnished apartments in the area, but I am not sure how close they are to a bus route. The Warren House is fairly close to a bus route, it is not too bad and is on the Eastern Boulevard.

I cannot offer advice on the bus system, having never used it.
