Hi, there is a possibility that we will be moving near the Dothan area this fall. I'm having a hard time finding possible boarding stables. I own one Morgan show gelding and would possibly be bringing another with us. Where are the good barns? Thanks!

Horses aren't real big in Dothan, it's peanut country. Most of your 'animals' are going to be further north, in the Headland, Abbeville, and Ozark direction.

I hate to say it, but you may have to build your own horse barn..

There is a large, nice horse community and boarding stable just across the street from our Inn west of Dothan off of Rt 84. The boarding stable is owned by Dr. Maddox 334 692-5318. The stable is large and diverse. Many different kinds of horses, and people from eventers to just pleasure.

Do you know the name of the farm? We just heard back from the company today and we will be relocating there for sure.

i don't have horses, but know the maddoxes and know many people who board their horse with them....it's a beautiful facility a nd the maddoxs' are great people...this would be your best bet both for boarding and meeting other "horse people"...

hey - my husband is the manager of the Covington Center Arena in Andalusia, al - about 60 mile from Dothan - what do you show your Morgan in - we don't have any shows that are specific to that breed - sure would like to though - maybe you could bring Morgans to our area - we have Arabian shows - i would like to buy a gaited gelding that is about 6 years old or older that is dead broke - i'm old but love to trail ride if you hear of anything - my husband would be glad to help you with horses in our area - you could contact me at tjulie@centurytel.net- my husband had a morgan when we first got married 30 years ago - they are beautiful horses -
