Yes.Huntsville has received money as well as other cities but why not Selma when they use it for political gain.

extending I-85 thru Selma is needed and would create jobs for people in those blackbelt counties. It will also make the state of Alabama more complete in a transportation since. But to many forces working against Selma.

Well, I've spent a LOT of years in Selma, and well, there are a lot of nice Civil War era homes there. However, like someone said, the culture shock would be a tremendous factor. It's a really small town with a lot of history, but that's it. Majority of the people do business in Montgomery or Prattville.

The reason one would not list their house is to keep undesirables from inquiring about purchasing it!

Unless you consider gangs, crack and meth heads out of the ordinary,no.I was born at the old Selma Baptist medical center, raised in Plantersville, about 20 miles north of Selma.Over the last 25 years my excursions to that place have become limited to Little Miami and Old Cahaba. My last trip to china mart ending my shopping trips to Selma as the filth inside was unbelievable.I would love to live in the beautiful country side surrounding Selma, maybe towards Camp Grist in the Summerfield area,or towards Sprott/OakMulgee a ways, but I'll never live inside the city limits again.I was told there may be some beautiful property for sale in the Jones area on Mullberry Creek, but can't confirm it for you.
Peace
