Question Relocating To Alabama

I am looking to leave Memphis. I would like to be near a beach. Where in Alabama would you recommend. Memphis has very high crime so I want to avoid another situation like this. I probably be bringing my parents, sister, and her three children >6. So schools are an issue.

Pretty much any place in Baldwin County. That's a growing part of the state.

Ditto Baldwin County.
The Daphne area is pretty affordable and safe, and has solid schools and a pretty solid slate of amenities. It's an easy commute to Mobile, yet also an easy drive down to the beach.

What about work? Do you want to rent or buy? How close to the beach? Gulf or Bay?
What price range? Land or lot ? Close to shopping or country?

Chances of finding anything in Baldwin County for that price is pretty much a no. You may find something in Mobile county for that price but I suggest no to live their. O.k. to work in mobile but not live. It has a good bit of crime. If you find something in Baldwin county the comute to Mobile wouldn't be very bad. Spanish Fort and Daphne has some of the very best schools. Also those areas are very safe. I live in Robertsdale which is also very safe. Small but has really grown in the last 2 years. Also may find something in price range. Appatments are plenty full. (Appartmentguide.com for some of the area appartments or some realestate infor Assist to sell.com or Baldwin county mls)The schools are O.K. Very quite and peaceful. I've lived in Robertsdale for about 5 years. Also, Robertsdale is only about 30-45 min away from the beach and within the hour you could cross over stateline to Florida beaches were the water is much clearer. ***Word of advice, becarefull for sharks-this is in all beach areas- their has been shark attacks in waste deep water.***********
I personally take my kids to the Eastern Shore Mall. They have a Big water fountain that shoots out of the ground designed for kids to play in. It's FREE and SAFE. They have umbrelled tables and benches for parents. Very easy to spend hours of play without the worry of sea life.Don't have to worry for big waves or undertows which are bad in these areas. Also, no wory for sand and has everything you need in walking area(pizza, marble slab ice cream, restraunts,Starbucks and Mc Donalds across the street) or you can pack a picnic. My kids love it. Much rather go their then the beach. Hope this helps
