I love to have a land, The property tax rates are low in Alabama compared to texas and commuting is not a big problem, I guess you should opt for Alabama.

Baldwin County in south Alabama has virtually no crime. I live in Robertsdale, Al. It's very low key, very quite, very small, very safe. Use to be very small with not much of anything here but in the loast 2 years has really started to expand. We are only 30-45 min. away from Gulf Shores beaches and within the hour you can cross over into the beaches of Florida were the water is much clearer. If you have the money Fairhope is very nice. Very nice down town area that small and safe to walk in the evenings or about a mile down from middle of town is the Fairhope Pier that is also very nice to walk on in the evenings. The Fairhope beaches are not so great considering it is Bay water mixed with gulf water(color=brown water)but the town is great. Baldwin County is not fast paced. I would stay away from Mobile. Not a safe place. It's on the other side of the bay from baldwin county (about 30 min.) Crime rate is very high.I don't even like to drive over their. If it wasn't for my stepdaughter living there I would never go over thier.

Good find! Robertsdale has 3 on crime and property crime. Air is a 39 and water a 69 (out of 100) not bad either. Better than my current town. Rain fall is high though 67" that's almost 6' of rain! So, it is from the hurricanes?
Daphne, AL looks nice too.
Thanks

I am seeing this wording. Can someone explain in your state what it means?
"Subject to Alabama right of redemption laws"

It's not from hurricanes. It rains a lot down here in the southern part of Alabama. Mostly during summer we have a pop up thunderstorm everyday.

Yep, it's like that just about everywhere. I listen to the police scanner and it's the same streets over and over again.

Mobile is not a bad place to live. The crime level maybe high in areas but it isn't bad in a lot of the town. I have lived in Midtown for 15 years and not a single break in or any bad crime in my neighborhood the whole time. It is safe to walk the neighborhood without getting mugged or anything. Springhill is really safe to and West Mobile as well. Lot of rain though.

If you really think Baldwin County has virtually no crime your crazy. Maybe Robertsdale does but Baldwin County does have a lots of crime. On the news lately they have had a lot of crime problems over there.

Is there a right of redemption in Alabama?
Yes, Alabama has a statutory right of redemption, which would allow a party whose property has been foreclosed to reclaim that property by making payment in full of the sum of the unpaid loan plus costs within twelve (12) months after the sale. A Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure does not provide a right of redemption nor does it permit a deficiency

Ok. I did take my RE classes, never licensed. Maybe this is why The medical field was more up my alley. So, if the deed is giving back to the back original owners after foreclosure, then the new owner is SOL and has to move out? Or, regardless after the sale, owner can't come back within 12 months and reclaim it? Can you explain a little better for us slow people
