The "new" high school was built in 1989 (I graduated from it in mid 2000's), they now have a newer middle school that was built around year 2000. White Spot grocery closed for a little while, but now is reopened (A few years ago). 169 Mini Mart was sold by Mr. Horne, and changed ownership three times before closing down, (now been closed for multiple years). The court house is still there, in moderately good shape. The school nearby that was originally the high school, then the middle school is now Oliver Elementary. The old Oliver building is now empty, rotting away. There is a four lane divided median highway that runs completely through Russell County now, the old 431 has been chopped up, some becoming Old Seale Highway, some being changes into one lane for the new highway.

Any thing that you might need to know chances are I can answer, I just don't know what to say as i'm sure what I would find interesting you might not. I have done many years of research into the surrounding area since I grew up here.

Picture of the old low crossing bridge near the Fire Department. The old Fire Department is no longer used, a new one has been built (unknown year). All of the train tracks that connected to this bridge were removed, why they didn't take down the bridge I don't know. At some point the cost of the hazard light flashings will overcome the cost that it would have taken to remove the unneeded and somewhat dangerous low bridge.
