Default thanks

Thanks for all your advice. Right now I am leaning towards Auburn. It seems to be a slightly better school and the campus is beautiful. Alabama is also nice though.

It depends on your course of study. Let us know and we might be able to help you better. One thing about Alabamians is that we are a biased bunch.

Tuscaloosa and Auburn are both decent places to live, but there is very little in Auburn besides the university on the other hand Tuscaloosa and it is closer to Birmingham, too.

If it's liberal arts, then Auburn's probably the better choice of the two. But I would really suggest a liberal arts college in Alabama such as Birmingham-Southern or Montevallo.

In the 2008 US News and World Report top national universities ranking, The University of Alabama ranked #91 and Auburn was ranked #96. Just thought you might like to know.

In other words, not much difference between the two. Those are all pretty subjective rankings.

No, I would say UA outstrips AU on liberal arts.
B'ham-Southern is fine if you don't mind the private school tuition. There are scholarships, yes, which bring the price down to the AU-UA level.

(Why do I get the feeling the OP was actually stirring up controversy?)

The truth is that neither school is really geared towards liberal arts in the construction of their curriculum.
