Looking for hints
I've recently moved from the Dallas/Ft. Worth region of Texas to Florence, Alabama to attend school, be closer to relatives, and experience a different lifestyle. You know, something a little less stressful and laid back. However, I'm starting to deeply regret the decision. I'm just shy of a month and a half to 21 and finding nothing here so far to associate myself with, no social life, nor much as to attract my attention. I'm also a restaurant server and bartender by trade. That being said the treatment I've recieved, while working, from many of the "warm and welcoming" small town Florians I serve has been awful. From people being generally rude and insulting, to running me ragged and being ungrateful at the check. Now, by no means am I giving up on the city of Florence, or just trying to whine about the city and it's inhabitants. The city is simply beautiful and picturesque. I was wondering if anyone out there had any tips for a young gent who enjoys cultural diversity, a fast lifestyle, long talks, and late nights enjoy himself and get along in this city.
