Default We are relocating to Anniston want to live East of the city, looking for a townhome or small house, help :)

Hello All,

Finding this site has been a useful tool, thank you for providing some good advice. We will be relocating to Anniston (military) in the next few months. We have read a lot about the town, economy, EPA hazard, schools, what we are lacking is solid info on homes or condo's. I doubt that we will purchase but we want something roomy, with a garage for our motorcycle and vehicles. Privacy, near a lake, quiet is the ideal. We are looking East of Anniston. We don't have kids so school system isn't important at the moment. We are in our mid 40's, I know Oxford is a college town so we are keeping that in consideration regarding apts and condos.

At present I'm in DC and my husband is in Germany.

Thank you so much!

There's no college in Oxford that I'm aware of. You might be thinking of Oxford, Mississippi (Ole Miss). The college in Calhoun County is Jacksonville State University north of Anniston. I went to college there. But it has been many years since I spent much time down there so I don't have much good up-to-date info about the area unfortunately.

This has nothing to do with your question - we were in a ridicilously similar situation - military, DC, Germany:>)

Check the website of the city. Really nice folks and they know their community. Just call them.

You are trying to combine two households and deal with the US Military. Are you looking forward to AL or are you still in the "PCS again" mode.

You are too kind in asking. We are looking forward to Anniston, we haven't been there in a long time and from what I can recall it was lovely. We are eager to set up house together and in a nice area. It will be different I know, I'm very city and he can't tolerate urban so I don't how that's going to work. He's been enjoying Bavaria so I can't blame him.

Thank you so for the support.

Unless you mind - I will switch to pm.
