Depends on how much you want to spend. Southern Homecrafters does some nice looking site builts at a reasonable cost. In the manufactured housing market, I was impressed with the Deer Valley product, and am leaning towards that as a starting place myself. I won't consider anything with less than an R-14 insulated wall, I've lived in too many cold homes and apartments.
A lot of people dump a manufactured home on a site and then don't do anything to make it more than a box. Adding porches, rooms, or changing the roofline can make a big difference in appearance, and the cost is still less than stick-built.
Modular homes are another option that I plan to check out as the time gets nearer.
