Default Working as a Police Officer

Hello,
I'm currently finishing up school witha degree in criminal justice. I've been wanting to move out of iowa for awhile now. Reason being is all the times i've been out there i've loved it. Anyways i was wondering whats it like finding work and or workin as a police officer in Alabama?
I've been down there a few times and love the scenery and the feeling down there.

What part of AL are you interested in? There is a difference in S. AL and N. AL. Middle Al is kind of in between, no mountains although a little hilly but not near the gulf or bay.

Most of the small town departments don't pay much. Your best bet is probably trying to get a job as a state trooper.

You'd probably need to call.

This website shows the pay for a Mobile police officer, but as you can see it's not very high.

I don't know what the COL is for your area but COL is lower in AL if that is any consolation. I lived in FL and you can get a MUCH bigger house in AL for a lot less, plus the property taxes are much lower.

However, I do believe police are underpaid in every state
