AFAIK, there isn't much to do around Troy at all that would interest most college kids. The area is VERY family and community oriented, with a strong Baptist influence. If you want a place where you won't be distracted from studies, you may have chosen well.

You can watch helicopters fly overhead, the train travel through town, and go hunting and fishing as HB suggested. If you want to cut up, you may need to visit Atlanta or some other larger city.
