Default housing prices

does anyone know what the average per square foot price to finish drywall in the tuscaloosa/birmingham, huntsville, or montgomery areas is? I know that around mobile it is around 40-45 cent a square foot and I am moving up around birmingham around august and I need to know what the average price is up there. thanks for your help in advance.

okay i really don't know, but wouldn't it be more expensive in homes with higher ceilings? i wouldn't think it would be that much different in birmingham than in mobile. 50 cents a square foot does sound cheap though. that would only be $1500 for a 3000sf home. not really sure though!

Steve I hope you do not walk on drywall:>)

It really depends. Do you plan to remodel or build? as your own general contractor?

I am in the drywall business and I am moving up there in the fall and I was just wondering what the average price is per square foot so I would know what to be asking for when I make a bid on a house and steve it really depends on the person I normally do not charge extra for higher ceilings and the price is according to the number of boards in the house not the size of the house. for instance, if the house holds 100 boards the the price is $2160. how I would come to this price is there are 48 square feet in a board and I would multiply the 48 feet by .45 cents which comes to $21.60 then multiply that by the number of boards (100) and that is the price. however, they do have stretch rock which is 54 square feet and you would just change the 48 to 54 and follow the same steps.
