Default Guntersville

Could Guntersville support a luxury bed and breakfast? or is tourism too seasonal for year-round visitors? How many bed and breakfasts are in Guntersville now?

There's one on the water (Lake Guntersville Bed & Breakfast) and others in nearby Scottsboro and Arab. Rates are in the $80-$95 range. Not sure they would fit your definition of luxury since you haven't described what you have in mind.

Will this be your first venture into the B&B business? Do you need to make your living from the inn eventually or would this be more of a sideline to your retirement income?

You might want to go to the B&B website to check out what is available in the area. The B&B in Arab has closed and the property sold as a home rather than a business. I haven't seen many tourist during the winter but then I use to live in FL where there were more tourist than residents at times. Figment07 had it right I do believe if you are going to use it as your sole income you could be disappointed

Guntersville just doesn't have the marketing to attract the high-end B&B trade. The Lookout Mountain area, OTOH, seems to do a thriving business in tourism. Check out:

Just an FYI... Lake Guntersville B&B is not on the water... it is in the middle of downtown.
There is a new Vacation Cabin Rental in Guntersvile, just off the lake Starrs country cottage

As Ive said in other post - I lived in Guntersville years ago, its a beautiful, peaceful city. My mother has a home on lake Guntersville and business is quite good there. I would think another bed and breakfast would be great - tourism is very active there.
