Default Help,an someone explain property taxes to me

Hi,I have a question about taxes in Alabama
if I puy a $100,000 home what would be my total tax, including city, county, school in a city, like in Madison county?
the way i figure it its 10% of 100,000-4000(homestead-under 65) so my home is assessed at 6000 dollars for tax purposes? what would be my tax.is sanitation included?

Also i understand pensions are exempt so if my non pension income is only bank interest ,how much as a married person will i be taxed ,afterr my exemption and deductions?

lasst question whats a good city for an italian/russian family to live in?

Your taxes would be about $4-500.00 mol depending on the city... here is a link to the property appraiser website for Madison county.
Madison County Tax Collector

Your pension may or may not be subject to income tax, it all depends on the employer. If it is a gov't pension of any kind it is not subject to income tax however if it is a private company pension it could be. If it is a private company, there is a list of the companies whose pensions are exempt.

The interest amt could be taxable but it depends on how much interest you are talking about.
