Default Any info on economy in Montgomery

Would appreciate info on the economy now in Montgomery. I know there is the AFB and the Hundai plant there. Are there other major employers in the area. Also is it a safe place for a small family? What if any issues does Montgomery have?

thanks!!!

Montgomery has a healthy economy and is a great place to raise a family. Most families stay in outer areas of Montgomery such as Prattville, Millbrook, and East Montgomery. The city is no more dangerous than any city of its's size, with most crime in the same areas. You have Aurburn University very close by and 2 hrs from the coast.

I noticed that Montgomery has a lot of private schools from grades k-12. Why is that? Is there a problem with the school system. Do you consider this area to still be racially divided. I noticed that prattville seemed to be where most of the whites lived and the west side is where most of the blacks lived.

Just as Most of the whites live on the east of Birmingham and the blacks are in the west. Huntsville`s whit population is mainly in the South and the black is in the north. Mobile`s white population is out west and the blacks are farther east. So Montgomery is no different from any other American city. I stretch the word AMERIIIIICAN.

Oh my goodness PortCity you're good! I joined this forum yesterday and can't get enough. Wish I would've found city-data when I first started my research.
Keep up the good work...
