You do know that Gulf Shores experienced significant hurricane damage just a few years ago? And they haven't moved it - it's still sitting right on the gulf?

I'd live in Gulf Shores if it were built according to the most recent codes. Those that were suffered minimal damage from Ivan. Those that weren't...well, we know the story.

I guess that means get your insurance and leave for a storm . also live a few blocks from the beach you will be fine. I rode out the storm at my historic cottage 1/4 mile from beach in Biloxi, MS. You'll be fine in a hurricane a few blocks from the beach and outside of floodzones

Supernatural faeries do not govern the paths of tornados. They are a meteorological phenomenom governed by physics. If you want to discuss religion you should do so in the appropriate forum.
As for the safe regions of Alabama with regard to tornadoes, there aren't really any in Alabama.
However, statistics show that being in the southern half of the state is safer than the northern portion (from Birmingham north).
Of course, the further south you go, the more chance of a hurricane affecting you, so I guess the best place statistically would be a band of territory across the state slightly south of Birmingham.

^^^If there is a hurrican in southern Alabama it will spin off tornados in areas north of the coast. The main thing to be concerned with during huirricans is flooding. Tornados it`s the wind though hurricanes do produce a lot of wind , deaths are the result of flooding in hurricanes. I have experienced about 6 hurricanes so far and the only thing that bothers me is the heat and humidity that comes after with no power. on the other hand i have family that lives in near Bibb County and they have been victims of tornados that are spun off by hurricanes. So the best thing to do is pray and use good judgement.

South Carolina especially the Midlands gets a little bit less tornadoes and lightning than NC, GA or Florida.

I do believe that Florida has an affair with the Tornadoes but Carolina is occasionally spared by them.
