Default Flooding in Shoals area?

I am considering moving to the Shoals area. I am curious about wheither the area suffers from occasional flooding of the river - any residential areas?

Isis, we do have some posters from the Shoals area, but they tend to visit infrequntly.

TVA installed a series of dams in the 1930s/40s to control river flooding. However, some feeder streams will occasionally back up from brief, heavy rainfall. I would suggest closely checking flood plain maps before purchasing any property. Generally, I have not heard of it being a problem except for a creek that runs through a park (Town Creek?), but nothing that I recall is built on the creek.
