Default Montgomery is going to get an aquarium?

I was reading a website and it said that Montgomery will get a proposed aquarium on the city's riverfront.

I don't live there but I hope they don't do it. Aquariums are a financial drain and really not that much of a tourist draw. The city should study the fiasco in Duluth Minnesota regarding their aquarium - what a disaster.

Moderator cut: website

Another site doesn't say Montgomery will get an aquarium. It says that it has been proposed by Montgomery's new mayor, who apparently is as clueless as Larry Langford. A Montgomery aquarium would be a disaster, for all the reasons we explained to you in response to your Birmingham aquarium fantasy.

^ LOL, im Port_of_Bama . I said "many in Alabam abelieve that an aquarium wouldn`t work becuse of competition from NO,Chatta, and ATL." In reference to the Birmingham forum of City-data and urbanplanet.org /Alabama forum other posters feel this away .Personaly since I posted it I`ll say take a risk at it Montgomery could gain because it may offer something that the other cities may not such as price which is a statment that I posted in that post well.

KE111691 is from some other part of Alabama not Mobile

I think gaming will set Montgomery for a major boom. When I was in Atlanta this weekend.I saw advertisement for the casino in Shorter AL (which is 10 min from Montgomery)on Atlanta local tv. When I went to the casino in Shorter the parking lot was full with GA tags.Montgomery needs to take advantage of this opppurnity by maybe having gaming on the new riverboat.Montgomery has the southern look and feel for this type of thing. And also has deep connection GA because of Auburn.

Montgomery is on the come up !!! Alley way project, riverwalk expansion, aquarium, new riverboat and theme park. I just hate that it is presnted as a low grade city on this site. I use to think Mobile was the most underated city in this state but oh no Montgomery is !

Is this casino a Indian reservation thing like wWndcreek ?
